Vincent Kompany Kicks Off His Development Career

Manchester City footballer Vincent Kompany’s proposal to develop a 75 unit apartment block in Manchester has received planning approval.

The development will include apartments from one to three bedrooms for the private rental market plus small business workspace. It will be built on a site at Bengal Street in the Ancoats area north of the city centre.

Kompany has formed a development company called M4nchester Four Limited with established developer Nathan Ezair. Ezair has already successfully developed several multi-million pound schemes in Greater Manchester.

The scheme is not the first Manchester development to boast the involvement of sports stars. Former Manchester United players Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville are involved with a major redevelopment scheme called St. Michael’s  in the city. Cricketer Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff is involved with an apartment block scheme in Castlefield, although planning permission for this was refused last year.
