Microsoft Excel is part of the Office suite and shares many functions with other programs. There is a lot that you can learn about, for example, Word and many of the functions are the same.
But Excel is a spreadsheet program built for specific needs and obviously doesn’t need everything a word processor or presentation program has. However, one thing that you can use and that works similarly is images.
Often times it’s best to create graphs from the data in the sheet itself, but when you need to insert an image, it’s good to know the functionality is there. Images can be resized and repositioned. You can add an image above or inside the graph, but there aren’t many tweaks.
- Open the Excel file you want to insert a picture into.
- Go to the tab Insertion in the tape.
- click Infographics and then Pictures.
- Scroll and select your photo.
- The image will be inserted and you can move it by dragging it to a specific cell.
- (The alternative is to copy and paste an image using classic keyboard shortcuts control + c And the control + Fifth.)
However, there is one thing to keep in mind. Normally, when you select an image and insert another, the new image usually replaces the old one. In Excel, pictures are stacked on top of each other instead. Delete the image you don’t want to keep, otherwise the file will increase in size.
