Intel’s Arc Alchemist graphics card series was launched just over a year ago and is said to include four cards: A380, A580, A750, and A770. A year later, three of them were launched, but the mid-range A580 has yet to see the light of day.
The fact that Intel stopped talking about the card led to speculation about its future already at the beginning of the year, and the more time passes, the less likely it is that Intel will actually release it. The A750 and A770 aren’t ultra-premium cards and compete closely with cards like the RTX 3060 and RX 6600 XT, so releasing a slower card with less graphics memory today might be a no-brainer for Intel.
Intel has been very quiet about its new Arc graphics cards lately, though the company continues to roll out new drivers that boost performance and stability in many games. Not least after Starfield’s launch when an update was required to run the game at all. And at the Innovation 2023 event in early September, graphics cards were not mentioned at all.
The latest rumors about the next generation of Arc cards, Battlemage, say that it will be released next year and that Intel has trimmed its ambitions from “numerous” circuit variants to three. However, a few weeks ago, the company showed off prototypes of its new high-end BMG-G10 chip during a media tour in Malaysia, so it looks like development will continue even if Intel isn’t as open.
