The world’s first SUP with a V8 engine?

Test theft at a high level when YouTuber Daniel Riley outfitted his SUP board with a V8 motor!

Armed with a 3D printer, a CNC milling machine, and an eye for engineering, Daniel Reilly takes on what most people would call a silly series. Namely, the design and construction of a SUP board powered by a V8 engine. We don’t dare say that this is actually the first event of its kind in the world, but we judge that the chances are good.

Stand-up paddleboarding – a trend that has been gaining more and more momentum in the past decade. A water activity where the practitioner should be given the opportunity to find inner peace, train muscles and glide calmly across the bay or bay.

However, these above claims are nothing more than nonsense if you ask Daniel Reilly who runs the YouTube channel com.RCtestflight. Rather, he places his hope in the power of the internal combustion engine. Unfortunately, quite a few SUPs come with a V8 engine pre-installed or even as an option. And so Riley is forced to take matters into her own hands.

Difficult construction process

The motor – the size of a toaster and weighing about 5 kilograms – is already fully ordered. But there were already significant doubts about any expectations that the engine would perform as planned. Doubts that would turn out to be true. Already on the first start up, the starter motor burned out and had to be replaced with a regular screwdriver with a 3D printed adapter to fit the flywheel.

However, the list of problems that need to be solved does not end there. The engine had no clutch or drive. Two components that Daniel Reilly had to design, produce and build himself.
