I’d like a K only (not a KF) because I’d rather have an iGPU for troubleshooting, and I don’t know if my GPU survived, so I need something to send a video signal to my monitor until I know/buy a new card
I hate the chassis with the windows, gotta go.
I haven’t used an Asrock motherboard before, is it any better? What is the difference between Z790 and B760 or is it just a 13th generation naming by ASUS/ASROCK?
I’d consider using the disks/NVME from the old computer if I can, otherwise it’s 500GB NMVE for windows, 1TB NVME for games and maybe a 2TB HDD for everything else.
In terms of power supplies, I used an XFX last time, seasonal this time, thought I might have better luck with a Corsair…
How does MSI stack up against the Corsair on that front? What I heard when I looked at a new computer last time, which Corsair is the best you can buy?
I had a noctua cooler for the 8700k but I felt it was a bit too loud and didn’t keep the temp down especially on the 8700k so I’m happy to test the water now..

In your case, I would spend less on the chassis, motherboard, and power adapter to be able to put more money on the graphics card.
For example, you can fit the XT6950 and 5800X3D into your budget without much trouble.
I see you didn’t choose SSD/HDD in your devices either, but maybe you have this lying?
In terms of power consumption, 1000W is overkill for a build like this. 700-800 watts is quite sufficient, with a good margin.

Like I said above, I hate all windowed structures, and I know Fractal Design makes a good one, plus they’re Swedish.
My old structure was a fractal R6, and it worked, although I think the airflow was minimal..
I wouldn’t have considered an AMD CPU, I guess, although I always used Intel before.. However, for graphics cards, I don’t know, what about drivers for AMD cards these days?
For the SSD/HDD, I intend to use my old hardware provided it’s not dead either, and I was considering leaving it with the CPU/motherboard to the store for testing.
If it can’t be saved, I’m considering 500GB NVME for windows only, 1TB NVME for games + 2TB HDD for general storage..

Did you have a seasonal grudge last time, too?
Thanks to its reputation, I’d expect the rest of the computer to stick around, unless something really weird was going on in the house.
You should also keep the warranty on the net sign, it comes with a 10 year warranty. If the rest of the computer goes away too, maybe they’ll apply to it too, I’m not sure about that part, but I think it seems reasonable, a quality grudge shouldn’t take the rest of the computer with it.
The last computer had XFX as a network tag (my understanding now is budget), and this computer had Seasonic, so I’m hoping the rest survived, but that’s not clear yet.
If the cpu/motherboard survives I intend to sell it with the chassis if I can, time for a new one anyway
