I admit I am one of those who loved the new Apple TV Box Remote Control. Until I started using it – the trackpad is not a wise one. But with the new release of Apple TV 4K, a new remote has finally arrived.
And some other good things to look forward to.
Among other things, it is possible to know how well the monitor is calibrated.
But first, the remote, which finally feels like an intuitive control device, has buttons and not just a trackpad with a minimum of buttons.
The most revolutionary thing about the new version is that the 4-way button from the first version is back, but now it is integrated with the touchpad and scroll function. Press to move and select, and swipe with your finger to scroll and swipe along the outer edge of scrolling. Hear a little shout?
On the page there is a small button that activates voice control, that is, Siri, and a lot of people are used to having it in their iPhone.
Then the calibration. If you have an iPhone, you can use it as a colorimeter to read color reproduction and contrast, then the TV is calibrated to industry standards for movie theaters. And then the result may be as in the Apple image above …
Here you can learn how to do this:
Inside, the new Apple TV 4K has an A12 Bionic processor that supports HDR (High Dynamic Range) and Dolby Vision, up to 60 frames per second, which is said to give the user better picture and sound.
The new Apple TV 4K can be ordered from April 30, and prices are 2,000 SEK for 32GB storage and 2,200 SEK for 64GB.
