It’s possible that Apple ditched giving the A15 Bionic chipset to the new Ipad Air in the Iphone 13 series, which in itself would have given a real performance boost. But instead, we got the M1 chipset found in Apple computers and the iPad Pro series. This means 60% better performance and twice the graphics performance compared to the previous generation Ipad Air.
The design is otherwise the same as that of the previous generation. It has the advantage that the accessories from the previous generation, including folio keyboard and magic keyboard, fit the new generation, but compared to the latest Android tablets, the black frames around the screen start to feel a bit thicker.
As before, the iPad Air (2022) has a USB C port for charging and for the ability to connect non-hard disks, for example. If you do this, you can be glad that the data transfer speed has doubled.
Another improvement on the short list over the previous generation is that the front camera is now a 12MP wide-angle camera. This means that it supports Apple’s Center Stage function, which allows the camera to recognize the people in the photo and ensure they are in focus. If more people enter the picture, the section and centering change.
The screen is anti-reflective and processed at 500 nits. If you want a built-in SIM, it’s now available with 5G.
The casing is now made of 100% recycled aluminum. Apple iPad Air (2022) is sold in five colors with 64 or 256 GB of storage, with or without space for SIM cards. Prices are distributed as follows:
64 GB Wi-Fi: 7495 kr
256 GB Wi-Fi: 9295 kroner
64 GB 5G: 9295 kroner
256 GB 5G: 11095 kroner
iPad Air (2022) goes on sale on March 18th.
