On December 16, 2021, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health issued a management letter to the Municipalities and Joint Municipalities, Åland County, regional administrative agencies and the Institute of Health and Welfare. The letter outlines health security measures on entry through a recommendation on pre-testing and home testing after arrival in Finland for travelers, as well as health checks for people coming from countries at risk.
Recommended to everyone who comes to Finland
• Take a pre-test 48 hours before arriving in Finland
• Home test after entering
Instructions to regional administrative bodies regarding persons coming from countries at risk
In addition to the recommendations addressed to all travelers, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health recommends regional administrations, on the basis of Article 16 of the Law on Infectious Diseases, to take decisions on mandatory health checks for people who come from risk areas and who do not. You have a pre-test certificate.
The Institute of Health and Welfare has assessed that the countries where the omicron coronavirus has spread are South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini (Swaziland), Great Britain, Lesotho, Namibia, Nigeria, Norway, Denmark and Zimbabwe.
