Retired British doctor Tom Doherty, 67, disappeared this week while hiking in the French Pyrenees, a mountain range between France and Spain.
His family says they last heard from him on Tuesday, Aug. 6. During the afternoon, he sent a few photos showing the weather getting worse — and he swore a little.

In one message, Doherty wrote “help” and explained that he had fallen and was unable to move. However, he misspelled the message, dropping the letter mi from the word “move” – as if he was having difficulty writing.
After that it was quiet.
