DI Digital reports that Malmö-based game school The Game Assembly is now aiming to establish itself outside Sweden’s borders. The school is owned by Academedia and aims to open The Game Assembly in the UK
Game Training at The Game Assembly previously won an award for conducting one of the best game development games in the world. However, the company’s UK operations will differ somewhat from their current training. In the UK, the school aims for a type of apprenticeship where game companies can apply to take apprentices from the school. Game Assembly Head of Education Issa Norden tells DI Digital about the arrangement:
“Those who apply to become trainees must have prior education, for example a bachelor’s degree in IT or similar. Then we can train them in game development. They are placed in companies for a year and a half. There we train them one day a week. Digitally Fully, then they work for the company for another four days. So the interns can be located all over the UK.”
Norden further says that they are also looking to establish themselves elsewhere in Europe, such as Spain or Germany.
