It looks like the much-delayed The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will finally land in gamers’ hands in 2023.
According to Nacon Publishers latest earnings report, Daedalic Entertainment game will be released sometime Between April and September 2023so it looks like the game is finally getting ready to go.
The game takes place before the events of the movies and books, after the hobbit Sméagol grabs the magic ring and transforms into Gollum. The game has nothing to do with the Peter Jackson movies, but it is a completely independent story based on the books.
The game focuses more on stealth than combat and you will be given choices based on Gollum’s split personality.
Having a game been delayed so many times can really mean anything, but I feel like the game was in pretty bad shape, so I’m hoping the game will eventually be worth playing before launch.
Lord of the Rings: Gollum Coming to Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
