Along with the north And abstinence organisations, Muvindi is organizing a conference on alcohol-related sustainability in Stockholm in May.
– It is a knowledge-raising conference that will address not only health-related sustainability issues, but also environmental issues, women's and children's rights and the like, says Rona Neely, a Muvendi administrator who is organizing the conference.
And not only the purpose To increase efficiency in this field.
– Conference on demand. The organizations want to increase their expertise in this field, but also want to strengthen contacts between sobriety organizations in the Nordic countries. The social part is also important. Many want to meet up with old friends, while others come to make new connections.
According to Rona Neely The process began in January last year.
– Then the Scandinavian Council of the Good Templars was closed, but they did not want to lose Scandinavian cooperation. That's why Movendi Norden was formed, as part of Movendi International.
She believes it is important to keep Nordic cooperation alive.
-The Nordic region is unique when it comes to the temperance movement and alcohol policy with our retail monopolies. Now I also believe that cooperation is needed more than ever. It is also an advantage that we are very similar. It is easy to communicate between organizations.
Although Muvindi She takes the main responsibility for this arrangement, and confirms that there are many people who are getting help.
– We have a working group that includes members from IOGT-NTO, Junis, IOGT Norway, Rusfri Oppvekst, IOGT Iceland, and the Rasaana Health and Traffic Association.
Runa Neely is very satisfied with the collaboration so far.
“We would like to continue and do more projects together,” she says.
