Google has barely put the Stadia gaming platform on the shelf, so now we get a Chromebook for gaming.
We’ve been working on this for over two years and are finally game-ready for our Chromebook, a Google spokesperson said during the digital launch Monday night.
– You can’t play on a Chromebook
Many would agree that Chromebooks are very practical. Booting up is lightning fast, battery life is unbeatable as well as stability. They primarily work in the cloud, so they don’t need complex hardware or large internal storage to work well. You just need an internet connection.
But are you able to play on a Chromebook? It won’t work, you might think. But that is exactly what Google is releasing now.
When life gets in the way
The idea is that in recent years there have been many great games for PC, but the necessary equipment is expensive and updating it can be problematic and expensive. Namely, the equipment has to be updated to keep up with the latest games, and that can be a challenge for many.
I myself am in a situation where life gets in the way of games. I have a family, kids, and when I got some time to sit and play again, the equipment was old. Gadgets you once paid a lot of money for, he says.
In other words, playing on the computer can be an expensive hobby. Even if you are not at the professional level.
The solution: cloud gaming
Playing games on a Chromebook is easier than it sounds. The heavy graphics required to make the most advanced games are processed in the cloud! This means that your own devices can be very simple.
Google has teamed up with third-party partners to offer cloud-based games on the Nvidia GeForce Now, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and Amazon Luna platforms. The latter is currently only available in the US, so for us here at home, it’s GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud.
GeForce now
If you get a GeForce NOW account, you can access all the games on the service. between League of Legends, Fortnite, Counter-Strike, Lost Ark, Guild Wars 2 especially Cyberpunk 2077 movie.
With an RTX 3080 subscription, you get access to GeForce RTX 3080 solid state graphics processing (GPU). All processing is done in the cloud! All you need is an Internet line of at least 35 Mbit / s, and you can play even the heaviest games with a latency of less than 85 ms.
Xbox Cloud games
If you install files Cloud Gaming App On your Chromebook, you can also access a variety of games, including Forza Horizon 5And the fortniteAnd the infinite auraAnd the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey And the Equestrian 2among other things.
good graphics
What you need for a great gaming experience on your Chromebook is a WiFi 6 or WiFi 6E network card and preferably 8GB of RAM or more. In return, you get access to a solid GPU in the cloud, and graphics performance of up to 1,600 pixels (2560 x 1,600) at 120 Hz.
It is really every player without high requirements.
