Studies show that it is possible to identify a narcissist – on the eyebrows

Surely it would be nice to be able to recognize the appearance of a narcissist? In fact, there is a feature of the face that can reveal a narcissistic personality – the eyebrows.

Is it possible to recognize narcissists at first glance? Canadian researchers Miranda Giacomin and Nicholas O. Rule attempted to answer this question in a series of studies they conducted in 2018.

Eyebrows reveal personality

Narcissists are often initially charming and charismatic people, but their personality usually leads to negative behaviors. It’s important to be able to recognize narcissists so that one can avoid exposure to these behaviors, Giacomene Worl said.

Previous studies have shown that people can identify a great personality based on appearance. The researchers wanted to find out what facial features reveal a narcissist – and came up with a somewhat unexpected conclusion.

The results of studies have shown that correct assessments of narcissism often depend on the eyebrows, and that the thickness and density of the eyebrows influence the assessment. The researchers’ conclusion was that distinct eyebrows reveal narcissists’ personalities, something that can be applied in our daily lives.

So the next time you feel like something isn’t right with someone, look at their eyebrows. They can reveal more than you think!
