The STCC was preparing for the 2023 racing season. The idea was for the race to be all-electric with powerful electric cars developed by EPWR. But production was delayed and the first race scheduled in Helsingborg in June was cancelled.
Now it turns out the delays are continuing, and STCC has been forced to cancel the season and focus instead on getting the cars ready for the 2024 racing season. In the fall, STCC will showcase the new, finished cars.
– We can only apologize to all concerned parties and those who follow us for not being able to implement the 2023 season as we planned. It is an advanced, pioneering project that is unfortunately sensitive to delays in delivery,” says STCC CEO Mickey Byrne.
We are working tirelessly until 2024 and have never lost our commitment to this pioneering project, quite the opposite. “We have a very strong concept with EPWR, but unfortunately we cannot conjure up a delay,” continues Mickey Byrne.
In connection with the races at Ring Knutstorp on August 21 and Mantorp Park on September 22, STCC will display the PWR002 electric prototype.
– Although the construction of new cars has not progressed far enough, they have come a long way and it will not be long until we can showcase a completely new generation of elite racing cars to our fans, partners and fans, concludes Mike Bern.
