There are still a few weeks left for the PS5 to enter its first year, but it looks like Sony has now launched a new model with revised specifications.
Following the revelation earlier this summer, when the information from one Japanese store Testified that a new PS5 variant could appear The start of the Australian press Now you’ve been able to track down one of the most legendary consoles on store shelves.
Previous rumors meant that only the so-called digital version variant would get the changes, but now it appears that the regular PS5 model will also be updated.
The new PS5 has a new serial number, so if you want one, you need to take an extra look and make sure it appears on the device, rather than the CFI-1000, which was the original serial number.
What’s new in the new PS5 model?
We haven’t yet been able to account for all the changes in the new PS5 model, but we do know the following:
The most obvious change is in the screw on the rack mount – the part that allows you to move the rack, so you can position the rack either horizontally or vertically. The original model had a screw that had to be removed with a screwdriver, while the new one has a variator that can be unscrewed manually.
Surprisingly, the new models also have a lower weight – up to 300 grams, according to various articles. It is a very big difference and it will be interesting to know the reason for the slimming process. This is an impressive improvement, especially since it happens so early in the console’s life cycle, and it bodes well for anyone waiting for a PS5 Slim.
The revised model may also mean that it will soon be easier to get the PS5. This shows that Sony is now improving the production process and that the company will hopefully soon be able to keep up with demand.
We’ve reached out to Sony representatives hoping to get more in-depth information on the differences between the old and new PS5 model – we’ll update the article with comments.
