New Delhi: Former India batsman Virender Sehwag took a cheeky dig at England and their baseball style with a hilarious tweet after Rohit Sharma's India thrashed the visitors by five wickets in the fourth Test at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi on Monday to seal the five-match series with an unassailable 3-1 lead. India tamed the Bazball for the third time in the series to register their third successive win and take the series.
Asked to chase down a moderate target of 192 runs in the second innings, India got off to a flying start with openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal sharing an 84-run stand for the first wicket. While Jaiswal scored 37 runs, Rohit scored 55 to pave the way for a huge win for India. But the departure of the duo caused a terrible collapse for the landowners.
India lost wickets in quick succession as they went from 84/1 to 120/5 in no time on the fourth day of the Test match on Monday. However, Shubman Gill and Dhruv Jurel combined to share an unbeaten stand of 72 runs for the sixth wicket to take India over the line in the tough chase. While Gil scored 52 goals without being out, Gurriel continued his heroic run by scoring an unbeaten 39 goals to earn him the man of the match award.
Sehwag took to Twitter to troll England after India won the Test series as he took a dig at Bazball. The former India opener shared a meme featuring late comedian Raju Srivastava with a screenshot of the World Test Championship (WTC) rankings where India is in second place while England languish in eighth place after the series defeat.
“Carlo Entertainment, England. Jeet jaisi boring cheez Bharat, Australia, New Zealand kar lenge (Enjoy entertainment, England, India, Australia and New Zealand can do boring things like win),” Sehwag wrote.

Dhruv Gurriel shines in Ranchi
Young wicketkeeper-batsman Gurel turned out to be India's hero in the fourth Test in Ranchi as he played two brilliant knocks under pressure to rescue his team from trouble on both occasions. He scored 90 runs in the first innings to lift India from 177/7 to 305, helping the hosts reduce England's lead to just 46 runs before scoring an unbeaten 38 in a match-winning stand with Gill to send India home in the second innings.
The 23-year-old, who was included in the squad despite his inexperience in domestic cricket, repaid the faith shown by the selectors and the team management in style with his performance in the Ranchi Test.
