The European Space Agency, ESA, has released a clip showing some of the things that will be fixed in the coming year.
Among other things, sending Juice’s rover to Jupiter where it will investigate Jupiter’s three moons Ganymede, Europa and Callisto. Moreover, we are expected to see the first images from the third generation Meteosat satellite system and the Euclid satellite is also scheduled to be sent, which will provide a three-dimensional map of the universe where time is the third dimension.
The European Space Agency will also continue to work with the so-called European Service Modules aligned with NASA’s Artemis mission to the Moon. The first Danish astronaut, Andreas Mogensen, will also return to the International Space Station. He may then also become the first ESA astronaut to pilot a SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft.
Perhaps the biggest event for the European Space Agency in 2023 will be the inaugural flight of the new Ariane 6 rocket. There’s still no exact date for when this will happen, but the goal appears to be for the rocket to make its maiden voyage into space sometime in the fourth quarter of the year.
