Rio Ferdinand could be about to move to London after securing a buyer for his home in Alderley Edge, Cheshire.
The former England and Manchester United football star had to slash the price of his former martial home by £1.5 million to secure a buyer.
He and girlfriend Kate Wright now look set for a London move, Homes & Property reported.
Ferdinand originally put his seven-bedroom house in Cheshire up for sale for £4.5 million, but eventually sold it for £3 million.
He lived at the property with wife Rebecca Ellison, the mother of his three children who died from cancer three years ago at the age of 34.
The luxury home has a swimming pool, Jacuzzi and a gym with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking rolling hills.
Ferdinand, 39, is dating Wright, 27, who quit The Only Way Is Essex last year after their relationship began.
Wright gave up her own home in Essex to move to Cheshire, but the pair are now house hunting in London.
Earlier this year, Ferdinand, who is currently in Russia as a BBC World Cup pundit, made a multi-million pound offer to save troubled non-league football club Dulwich Hamlet, but it was rejected by its American owners Meadow Residential. Ferdinand grew up in nearby Peckham.
