Reubens Invest £19m Into Modular Builder

Property moguls David and Simon Reuben have invested £19bn into modular building company Project Etopia, reports say.

Project Etopia uses new technology to build prefabricated modular homes and educational buildings which can not only be erected on site quickly but which are also energy efficient in design. The company has a factory in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, which has capacity to produce 2,000 modular homes annually and is currently working on a development of 47 modular homes in Corby, Northamptonshire.

Project Etopia founder and chief executive Joseph Daniels said: “Reuben Brothers’ significant investment in Project Etopia is a huge endorsement by an eminent investor of what we are doing and marks an enormous milestone in the company’s history.”

Modular homes potentially have a promising future as a partial answer to the housing crisis. While the company is currently quite small an investment of this nature from such high profile investors is an endorsement not only of the company, but of the wider modular building sector.
