Of Trump’s opponents in the Democrats, the situation has been relatively quiet. Reactions were stronger on the Republican side.
The aforementioned Kevin McCarthy attacks the person who brought the charges against Trump, Attorney General Alvin Bragg. McCarthy said he had caused “irreparable damage” to the country and was trying to interfere in the upcoming presidential election.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is likely to be Trump’s primary challenger, is also attacking the judiciary.
“It’s un-American,” he says, adding that the state of Florida will not help Trump’s extradition.
Pence: Outrageous

His former Vice President Mike Pence earlier spoke out against Trump’s actions regarding the storming of the Capitol in 2021. But now he is offering his support to Trump and calling the decision to impeach Trump “scandalous.”
