When Finn Remedy left Part Two of the series about hard-boiled NYPD officer Max Payne in 2003, it was in a double sense, when the rights to the brand passed to publisher Rockstar. Since then, the studio has focused on Alan Wake who got one among others remastered last year and sequel in progress.

Thus, a return to Max Payne was not very likely – until now. Surprisingly, to say the least press release Tell Remedy that they have reached an agreement with Rockstar, that they will develop one remake No less than both Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne. The project will be in collaboration with Rockstar, which is once again the publisher.

The upcoming mod combines the two games into one title and is developed in Remedy’s own Northligt game engine, which is also used in Quantum Break and Control. Remastered versions are being developed for Max Payne titles for PC and console, where Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S apply.
