Dan Trachtenberg’s contribution to the franchise takes us 300 years back, as a young woman encounters an alien monster.
This summer, it’s time again for the “Predator” franchise to get a new lease on life. Four years after the final part, now comes the fifth prey, the fifth film in the series, for which we have now received our first teaser.
The plot of “Prey” takes us 300 years back, to the Comancheria region, and centers on the young woman Naru (performed by Amber Midthunder), who was raised by powerful warriors and trained to protect her surroundings from various dangers. One day, she was chasing a new prey, which upon closer examination turned out to be an alien predator, which she would have to try to defeat in a dangerous confrontation.
The action thriller is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who is making his second feature film after the psychological thriller 10 Cloverfield Lane. The new clip gives us only a brief first look at what his contribution to the “Predator” series can offer, but at least it sounds interesting and exciting.
“Prey” has its US premiere on Hulu on August 5, while in Sweden we can expect to see the movie on Disney+.
