OM OM-5 . system

Many wondered what would happen when Olympus sold its camera division. The answer was that it exceeded all expectations. The first camera released by the new owners turned out to be a really cool gadget with autofocus and great image quality.

This time we are more skeptical. Namely, the OM SYSTEM OM-5 is based on the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mk III from 2020. That is, the internal technology is largely taken from a two-year-old camera and housed in the same camera housing as the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III as of from the year 2019.

So, a form of recycling. It certainly isn’t a negative for everyone. The E-M1 Mk III was very good, but without target-detection autofocus and with “only” 121 focus points, we’re not sure the “new” OM-5 has what it takes to keep up with the similar camera to competing models.
