The wait has been painfully long, especially considering the final season that aired earlier this year on the BBC…but now the finale is on Netflix.
Normally, we’ve been able to catch “Peaky Blinders” on a weekly basis around the same time the episodes were released by BBC, via C More here in Sweden. But for some reason, that never happened when the show’s final season finally aired in the UK earlier in the year.
Fortunately, now, however, there’s finally a sixth and final season of “Peaky Blinders” by Cillian Murphy and his always-impressive performance in the lead role as gang leader Thomas Shelby. The final season consists of a total of six new episodes, with the last one boasting just over 80 minutes rather than the series’ normal length of around 60 minutes.
Anyone who is particularly sad that “Peaky Blinders” is finally coming to an end, even for us Swedes, though, can be glad that only the TV series comes to its official end. Show maker Stephen Knight has a feature film ‘Peaky Blinders’ in the works, which will be shown in Birmingham and begin filming in 2023. This movie is expected to mark the official end of the characters we introduced to ‘Peaky Blinders’ since the first season has been released in 2013.
