It was like turning off the light, Kenneth Kronog describes. Overnight in mid-July, it was clearly noted that reservations were not made at the vaccination stations located in Macc in Arlöv, ngelholm, Hässleholm, Hörby, Svalöv, Skurup, Broby and Osby. Why is still wondering and the pressure is no longer yet.
– We had 25,000 bookable hits at the time, and 6000 of them were never booked. So a large part of the workforce was unemployed. Then we thought it was an effect of vacation times, where people worried about catching fever and getting sick during their spare time, but that explanation is no longer valid. People started working again, schools started, and above all, it’s important for high school students to enroll. I can say that one day we can vaccinate everyone who goes to Skåne High School and has not yet had their vaccine for various reasons.
20,000 free times in Macc alone
According to Skåne, at the moment, just over 9,900 people between the ages of 16 and 17 have received their first dose in Skåne. Approximately 22,000 people in this age group have never had a vaccine.
People over 55 have struggled a lot to get vaccinated quickly. And in the upper age group, most are now fully vaccinated. But the older you get, the more solidarity with vaccination, and then not so much appears. Even if you have to remember that you never know how the coronavirus affects. Unfortunately, many people who have contracted the virus believe that they do not need to be vaccinated at that time. But nature’s vaccination is not as safe as the vaccine. There are a lot of misunderstandings, so it is important to provide the correct information. You can pass the infection on even if you contracted it yourself, and this also applies if you receive a vaccine. We have to be careful and help now, says Kenneth Kronog, who says he, too, is very disappointed with the Scanian men.
It wasn’t fun to read a report showing that men aged 30 to 60 are among the worst in getting vaccinated in Sweden. I was really expecting more from Scanian guys.
Kenneth Kronohage says Macc has just over 20,000 free vaccinations in Skåne in the future, and there’s almost more than that if you add the other players’ times.
– We’ve seen how interest has now declined for a number of weeks. We really did everything we could to make it easier. People can call us and write to us if you want help with a reservation or have questions. You can summarize the vaccination period as: We didn’t have enough vaccines at first, then it became difficult to get staff during the summer periods when everyone wanted to be free, now we have the vaccines and the staff, no one wants to be vaccinated. It’s such an honor to live in a country where you get vaccinated so quickly, it’s a pity not everyone understands that, says Kenneth Kronog.
How does it affect your business?
– We have to focus on him. We will need to combine all reservations for a 2 dose, so you can expect that there may be some rebookings. We vaccinate about 15,000 per week, 80 percent of whom are people who are going to take their second dose. Then we also opened ourselves up to be able to get vaccinated early when it came to the second dose. It is absolutely necessary to manage the economy. When it comes to staff, we cut as hard as we can and with drop vaccination – yes, what’s the point? We already have this, you might say. Simply go in and book an appointment and you’ll get the same day if you like. So I don’t think that will change anything.
Are there many guests who do not attend?
– He has increased which, of course, is not good. The sad thing is, many people get up and leave the room when they haven’t received the Pfizer vaccine. I’m thankful we don’t have an Astra Zeneca problem anymore. It was a very stressful and sometimes very exciting moments.
– Many elderly people who would have had this vaccine got angry, scolded the employees and blamed them. Some also said that if something happened to them after the vaccination, it would be the staff’s fault. So we had a whole range of reactions and emotions in our vaccination centers.
We hope more than 90 percent
Currently, just over 76 percent of Scanian residents have received their first dose of the vaccine, counted 16 years ago. 59% were fully vaccinated. If Kenneth Cronog could recount his dream scenario in the future, he wouldn’t hesitate for a second.
– I hope we are, in any case, more than 90 percent in terms of the number of vaccinators. In addition, I think we should follow Denmark and start vaccinating from the age of twelve and over, and that those who have not been vaccinated do so as soon as possible before autumn. It looks like there’s going to be a new round of Covid this fall, so we have to be prepared.
