On the Kola Peninsula there are many wonderful garden cafes. Two other venues open late in the season are Mölle Krukmakeri and Krapperups Slottscafé.

The smell of brown butter and caramelized sugar wafts from the open café window of the red log house in the village of Slöinge, south of Falkenberg. Here, baker Sara Wennerström runs an award-winning artisan bakery in a thriving cultural setting. Turn-of-the-century gardens, manor parks, baroque miners’ gardens – there are plenty of beautiful parks in Dalarna. One of the most famous is Hildasholm, Axel and Hilda Monti’s summer house from 1910. It is beautifully located by Lake Siljan and surrounded by a large garden with many imaginative garden rooms inspired by the British Arts and Crafts movement.

The park is open Friday through Sunday until September 26, but if you want to combine a garden visit with coffee this year, it’s a good idea to use Bäsna Park, a trade and show park on the outskirts of Borlänge.

Here awaits a large garden with many small rooms, ponds, garden sculptures and interesting details. There is also a forest trail, a children’s magic trail, and a popular coffee shop. Landscape architect Mona Prestele acquired the garden in Hörnsjö outside Umeå in 2019. Since then, she has created one of the most lush gardens in Västerbotten, with flower beds full of roses, berry bushes and all kinds of cut flowers. In the greenhouse, tomatoes, zucchini, and pumpkin thrive alongside crops usually associated with more southern latitudes, such as watermelons.

Much of what is grown is used in the café, which also has its own bakery with a wood-burning stone oven. On some Wednesdays this fall, Mona bakes handmade pizzas and serves them locally grown vegetables. This year, “tea time” is also served in the greenhouse. Until mid-September, Garden Weeks events are held at Sofiero Castle in Helsingborg. In the castle garden, several inspiring gardens created by garden features such as Linda Schilén, Per Benjamin and John Taylor await.

Content creators will be on site to share polls and farming tips. Among other things, visitors can learn how to tie bouquets of cut flowers or join a guided tour.

Sofiero Castle Park is perhaps best known for its gorgeous rhododendron valleys, but even in the late season there are many beautiful places to rest your eyes, for example the Dahlia neighborhood bursting with all the colors of the rainbow.

Sofiero also has plenty of options for food or coffee stoves. Choose from, for example, a sumptuous lunch at the castle, a coffee in the café or a garden salad at the Orangery.
