Nils Albin, aka MC Hans from the hip-hop group Fridlyst, is now releasing his second single “100 Years”. It is an uptempo indie song rooted in the post-punk and new wave of the early 1980s. Just like his first single, “City Cats,” the song will be a part of his upcoming album, “Pluto.”
Musically, the single is reminiscent of post-punk groups like The Cure and Joy Division, but with modern lo-fi influences and Nils Albin’s percussive vocals on top. “100 Years”, which is about taking hard emotions with a heel kick, was produced with Skarp V and recorded in a small bedroom in Malmö during a turbulent period in the artist’s life.
“Life sucked and possessed at the same time! I was just starting to live life on the other side of my ex-meaning the relationship with my ex. When I wrote this song, the night before an after-party with a girl I liked so much I felt confused as hell”Nils Albin writes about the time the song was recorded.
On June 2, he will release his debut album, Pluto, but the 26-year-old artist has already begun performing with his new live band. Among other things, he acted as a support act for Broder John in Uppsala, and in the coming months he will perform at the Vårskriet festivals in Västerås, the Powerpose FM festival in Umeå and Mästerbotten in Stockholm.
New single “100 Years Old” was released just like its debut on Broder John’s Hoopdiggas Recordings label.
