Canary Wharf Group has entered into an agreement with luxury fitness lifestyle brand Third Space to open a 40,000 sq. ft. premium health club in its Wood Wharf development, 10 Park Drive.
The main health club will be open to new members but will also include an 8,000 sq. ft. area exclusively for residents of the property in a move thought to be the first combined offering of its kind in London.
Once complete 10 Park Drive itself will have 345 flats ranging from studios to three bedrooms.
Colin Waggett, CEO of Third Space, said: “Place-making developers such as Canary Wharf clearly recognise that Third Space’s unique and tailored proposition can differentiate and add value to their developments. We’re excited also to provide our first private residents’ space, which will have its own feel and layout to the main club. Residents will be able to experience everything a Third Space club has to offer, as well as a private sanctuary for relaxation.”
The concept of providing a VIP room within a fashionable nightclub is long established. But the concept of providing what is essentially a VIP health club within an already upmarket club is innovative indeed – and something that is likely to find its way into more residential developments in future.
