Sony announced its new mobile phones – and it has not spared the giant Japanese technology of gunpowder. The premium models Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III are well-equipped with technology with a focus on camera and gaming experience, while the more affordable Xperia 10 III is the budget option.
At a digital press conference Wednesday morning, Sony showed off new additions to its flagship series Xperia 1 and Xperia 5. Xperia 1 III is the luxury model while the Xperia 5 III is slightly less generous.
As in previous models, great emphasis was placed on photography and film. Both models can record 4K video at 120 frames per second, with a host of other features such as noise reduction and stability.
In the camera, a Sony user has to settle for 12MP, which the company thinks is enough for most people (but comparable to competitors Samsung and Xiaomi, who made headlines with their 108MP cameras on the Galaxy S20 Ultra and Mi 11 respectively).
But here is the continuous shooting function that makes it possible to take 20 photos per second, all with a different autofocus. Autofocus is specially adapted to be able to follow human and animal eyes, but it can also follow other things – even if it temporarily disappears from the camera’s field of view.
4K Resolution and Game Mode
In addition to the main camera, both models have a depth sensor, wide angle and zoom. It is noteworthy that the zoom has two fixed positions, 70 and 105 mm, respectively. When the photographer switches between the two modes, the camera’s focus is instantly set. For those who don’t want to spend a lot of time in the settings, there is also a “Basic” mode.
Stereo speakers are located on the front of the phone and should give 40 percent louder volume than the previous generation models. 6.5 ” OLED screen for Xperia 1 III and 6.1 ” for Xperia 5 III. 4K resolution with 120Hz picture refresh rate. For the mobile operator, there is a game mode which means, among other things, that the gaming performance on the phone can be easily recorded and more shared. The 240Hz touch screen on the screen also performs its functions for the mobile operator.
It charges half an hour in half an hour
Under the hood is Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888 chip, which means we’re talking about 5g mobile phones. The battery, with a capacity of 4,500 mAh, supports fast charging, which means that it is possible to charge from zero to 50 percent in half an hour, using a 30-watt charger.
At the same time, news of the less luxurious Xperia 10 III mobile was introduced. It’s also a 5g mobile phone, but overall it has less generous features than other new features.
It’s also likely to be visible on the price tag, but Sony has yet to announce any of these models for any of the models. They also did not specify any date for their arrival in Sweden. But it will launch in stores sometime during early summer.
