In recent days, a few users on a Reddit forum have noticed problems with AMD’s new Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor, as both the processor and the motherboard stop working during normal use. now Update MSI BIOS to several models to encounter the problem, which is suspected to be caused by motherboards that may have allowed too much processor voltage.
► The Ryzen 7000X3D processors are throwing in the towel
Overclocking is usually associated with overclocking, but the Ryzen 7 7800X3D has no official support for manual overclocking. Because of the stack cache design, only automatic features like Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) and Expo work, the latter being the AMD equivalent of Intel XMP. To reduce the risk, MSI wrote that they chose to further restrict functionality through both the BIOS and MSI Center to only allow a lower voltage, the so-called “low voltage”.
So far, MSI does not appear to be involved in any of the incidents reported online, with the common denominator being Asus motherboards instead. However, users are advised to upgrade to the latest BIOS version to be on the safe side.

It is not yet clear what exactly caused the error or if there is cause for concern for those with newly purchased devices. Asus has also updated several BIOS versions since the weekend, in addition to offering users who have experienced damage to new hardware components. The issue is under investigation by AMD, but there is no official statement available at the time of writing. At the same time, it is conducting external excavations, purchasing, among other things, the Gamers Nexus YouTube channel, faulty hardware for its own investigations.
