In May last year, Netflix announced that “Loving Adults” – the company’s first original Danish film – had begun filming. At the same time, the cast was confirmed and directed by Barbara Rothenburg.
It is now clear that “Loving Adults” will premiere on August 26. Described as a psychological thriller, the film is based on Anna Ekberg – pseudonym for author duo Anders Reno Clarlund and Jacob Weinreich – For Love.
Dar Slim and Sonia Richter play Christian and Leonora. The couple’s son has just been declared healthy after being ill for a long time.

Then: “During a party at Christian’s company, Leonora sees her husband with young architect Xenia. Leonora realizes that Christian may be planning to leave her.”
Further: “How can he? How does he leave the woman who sacrificed his whole life? The woman who sacrificed everything to take care of her son and her joint family? Then, Leonora makes a decision: she refuses to be the woman who was left behind – no matter what.”
The group also includes Seuss Wilkins, Michael Berkeger, Lars Ranthi, Morten Burrian, Benjamin Ketter, Caroline Hamm and Natalie Valsper-Sand.
Barbara Rothenburg is directing “Loving Adults” with a script by Anders Rønnow Klarlund and Jacob Weinreich. The film was produced by Marcella Deichmann for SF Studios. Philip Criss is the cinematographer, while Mitt Rio is responsible for the production design.
