Västmanland Regional Council A meeting was held on February 15th. On the agenda was the Left Party’s proposal to introduce free chickenpox vaccinations.
During her speech, Felicia Granath referred to the Liberals’ healthcare program as she says the Liberals are in favor of vaccinations. I find this reference very interesting and there is an undeniable interest in liberal healthcare policy.

The Left Party is absolutely right about this and we believe that access to vaccination and high adherence to vaccination programs is very important to avoid the spread of infections and epidemics.
Surprisingly I don’t find anything about vaccinations or vaccination programs for children in the Left Party’s regional policy platform.
Felicia Granath of the Left party wants the regional council to get behind her movement, press ahead with recommendations and expert advice and not wait for the Public Health Agency’s investigation into whether the chickenpox vaccine should be included in Sweden’s national children’s vaccination programme.

We liberals are in no rush, but we want to wait for recommendations and expert advice. Wait for the Public Health Agency’s ongoing investigation into the chickenpox vaccine. For us, it is important that the Västmanland region closely follows the development of vaccination programs and is at the forefront ready to be vaccinated as soon as recommendations and expert advice are given.
Liberals want to make decisions Based on scientific knowledge that will promote health and prevent disease. We believe that access to vaccination and high adherence to vaccination programs is very important to avoid the spread of fraud and epidemics.
Liberals’ health care policy puts people at the center — as patients, employees, and relatives. Knowledge directs liberal healthcare policy, across the board.
Health care must be provided according to knowledge and proven experience.

Before the pandemic, the most controversial vaccine was the measles vaccine, but there are many other diseases where vaccination provides important protection against adults and children alike.
Liberals in Västmanland She pushed for a free tuberculosis vaccine for children against the tick-borne disease. TBE makes some people sick for the rest of their lives, and an important public health issue is being able to go out in woods and fields without fear of catching TB. The decision was made and from 2023 children will be offered free vaccination against tuberculosis against tick-borne meningitis.
