A few weeks ago, information leaked that Lenovo was about to launch a laptop with a transparent display. And now the company has already done that, in the form of… ThinkBook laptop with transparent screen The concept, which is now being showcased at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
So the computer has a transparent screen, as rumors have claimed, it's transparent all the way to the edge on three sides, with a strip at the bottom towards the hinge and chassis. The screen size is 17.3 inches and uses Micro LED technology. When the pixel is off/black, it is transparent, but with white and full brightness it is opaque and at a maximum of 1000 nits, according to Lenovo, there is no problem seeing the content even in a bright room.
The lower half of the computer is also covered in glass and contains a built-in keyboard and drawing pad. The included stylus automatically activates the drawing pad when it touches the surface.
The main drawback of the futuristic screen is that the resolution is limited to only 720p, but Lenovo says so the edge The OLED panel has a resolution ceiling of 480 pixels. The site's reporter says the text on the screen is “fully legible” but it still looks like a concept rather than a computer ready to go into mass production.
