A penthouse apartment
created by fashion designer Roksanda Ilinčić within a converted iron
gasholder in King’s Cross, London,
has gone on the market for £7.75m.
The three bedroomed, three storey property is one of nine penthouses located at the Gasholders development. Each includes a private roof garden overlooking the nearby Coal Drops Yard regeneration.
The fully furnished
apartment’s interior features pastel hues and pieces created by established and
up and coming women creatives curated by Ilinčić. Ilinčić has taken the
design concept even further by selecting scents for the apartment, as well as
readings by women writers.
This is probably one for the buyer or investor who totally buys into the ingenious gasholder conversion and Ilinčić’s immersive, female-oriented interior. Even in London this amount of money can still buy a substantial piece of good-old-fashioned bricks and mortar, so paying £7.75m for a converted iron gasometer would seem brave to say the least.
