At the annual event, Feelgood Festival, readers are entitled to vote for their favorite in the “Feelgood of the Year” contest. The four books with the most votes go to an external jury, which this year chose David’s latest book, Karin Harrigard, “Kallbaderskan bland fjällen”.
Yesterday, August 27, the sixth edition of the literary event, Feelgood Festival, was held in Mariefred. There were about 30 Swedish writers, and some international writers of the feel-good type on site and they participated in seminars and writing schools. This year, the festival was especially long awaited as the audience was finally able to attend after two years of digital festival..
Every year, the Feelgood Festival organizes a “Feelgood of the Year” competition, where readers can vote for their favorite book, this year among the books released from Summer 2021 – Spring 2022. About 3,000 people voted and then four books went to an external book jury . This consists of journalists Kirsten Sarnio and Becca Heno and book blogger Eva Bostrom.
The nominated books are:
Anne Lee Hojberg – The letters that bind us together
Karen Harrigard – Kalbadrskan among the mountains
Birgitta Bergen – All I want is to live
Cassandra Bronstedt – simple one for india
winner book Kalbadrskan among the mountainsReleased by Printz Publishing in April 2022. Writer Karin Härjegård is a priest at the Church of Sweden in Ur and lives in David.
Here is the jury’s justification for the award:
“The feeling of happiness this year is as clear as a mountain stream and as delicious as a waffle made of real cream. Karin Härjegård takes us on a journey through life at the border between despair and hope, fearing neither seriousness nor laughter. The story surprises and finds new paths that go beyond those well familiar to the genre. A relationship novel about finding yourself where food and environments are important components. The dynamic language, with many expressive details, elegantly pushes the plot forward and creates a powerful presence.”
