Work on upcoming Rare games ألعاب Everwild It’s “completely restarted,” and it’ll be a while before we see it, according to a new report.
Everwild’s new IP was introduced by Rare on X019, but after releasing two trailers for the title, the developer has been pretty quiet about the Xbox exclusive – with Everwild notably absent from the game. Xbox and Bethesda Games Gallery on E3 2021.
According to a report from VGC That’s because working with Everwild has completely restarted with a new creative director and now has an initial release window in 2024, when the game’s original design was “remastered.”
VGC reported that the Everwild development team had difficulty setting a “clear direction for the title”. After creative director Simon Woodroofe resigned from the project last year, veteran Gregg Mayles was brought in to lead development of Everwild.
As a result of this change of leadership, work on the game has reportedly been resumed from the start with the 2024 goal in mind.
“The team behind Everwild continues to shape a magical experience and remains focused and eager to create a new game centered around a truly unique new world,” rare executive producer Louise O’Connor said in a statement to VGC.
“Greg Miles joined us last year as Creative Director, and the team has never been stronger. Since showing the world our Eternals trailer, we’ve made progress in all aspects of Everwild.
“The team continues to work hard to achieve our vision and bring the magic of Everwild nature to players around the world.”
More projects in progress
Although it looks like players won’t be able to embark on a journey to Everwild soon, it’s not the only title Rare is currently working on. The pirate adventure Sea of Thieves continues to grow and has a crossover with Pirates of the Caribbean, which was announced during the Xbox and Bethesda game show at E3 2021.
Sea of Thieves reached 20 million players earlier this year when the game reached its third anniversary since its launch in March 2018.
Rare hasn’t officially confirmed that work on Everwild has been rebooted from scratch, but we’re hoping to get some kind of update on the development of the Xbox exclusive title in the near future.
