iPhones have had some criticism in the past for their poor batteries, and while they haven’t been bad in Apple’s recent generations, we haven’t yet seen an iPhone with straightforward “good” battery life — and the iPhone 13 doesn’t seem to change that.
This comes from the popular leaked digital chat station, which uploaded a post on the social media platform Weibo. DCS has shipped the assumed battery capacities of the next battery IPhone 13Series, which gives us an idea of how mobile phones compare to their predecessors.
Obviously, the iPhone 13 mini’s battery is 2,406 mAh, compared to more than 2,227 mAh iPhone 12 mini. The iPhone 13 and 13 Pro are said to reach 3,095 mAh, which is a similar jump compared to 2,805 mAh iPhone 12 And the 12 Pro. Finally, the iPhone 13 Pro Max apparently hits 4,325 mAh, compared to 3,687 mAh iPhone 12 Pro Max.
If this leak is true, it’s the Pro Max model that is looking to get the only major capacity increase over its predecessor. However, it should be noted that battery capacity does not exactly match battery life, the latter being affected by other factors such as software improvements, screen size and your mobile usage. We expect the iPhone 13 series to have the same screen sizes and similar software as the iPhone 12 series. So changes in capacitance are still noticeable.
iPhone 13 – Pet
Today’s battery life is roughly the average life of a mobile phone, although many models exceed it and last up to two days or even more. Although Apple is much closer to the average than it used to be, we were hoping the company would go even further this year.
However, this does not appear to be the case, as these battery capabilities are still far behind the competition. Samsung, Xiaomi, and others use 5000mAh batteries in their premium mobile phones (their iPhone competitors), and as a result they have much longer endurance.
Of course, if iOS offers a lot of battery improvements, or if iPhones are much smaller than the previously mentioned competitors, maybe a smaller battery will suffice. But that’s not the case – except for the iPhone 12 mini which is clearly small, but has an equally small battery.
It can of course turn out that this leak is not true and the iPhone 13 series already has decent battery life. But if DCS is right in its claim – which it usually does – we can expect another disappointing year for iPhones (at least in terms of battery life).
