Perhaps the biggest criticism of Intel Arc graphics cards has to do with drivers. At launch, they worked really poorly, especially with older games. Since then, Intel has implemented several updates and performance upgrades in new and old game titles. Now another update arrives, which brings 300 percent higher performance.
the driver experimental copy And the big jump in performance is limited to one title – Assassin’s Creed: Unity. At 1080p resolution, Intel claims it boosts performance by up to 271 percent, with settings switched to “Very High.” At 1440p, it rose a bit more for a total performance of 313 percent, but then only on the “high” graphics setting.
Assassin’s Creed: Unity is based on DirectX 11 and is relatively old, with nearly nine years behind it. Why Intel would nevertheless choose to invest in optimization for this particular title is not stated, but it could be Respond to vitriol. The improvement was released just two weeks after Digital Foundry tested the Arc A770 and A750 again.
Intel Arc graphics cards have generally performed poorly in titles with older DirectX versions, from version 11 onwards, and Digital Foundry specifically singled out Assassin’s Creed: Unity as one of the games that still performs really poorly.
In the test loop, the Arc A750 could barely maintain 20fps, while the opponent’s Geforce RTX 3060 got close to 80fps in the same scenario. With that as a starting point, an increase of about 300 percent will give around 80 fps thus putting the Arc A750 in the same league as its green team competitor.
