Rain falls on the large gray mass located in an industrial area in Bruna, northwest of Stockholm. Zalando Logistics Center in cooperation with Ceva Logistics.
Although the building doesn’t look like much to the world, up to 1,500 people, spread across more than 40 different nationalities, work there during peak season.
– Brunna is a fundamentally important part of our ability to offer our Nordic customers the most relevant range and at the same time be able to deliver it faster. It’s something our customers appreciate,” says Fabio Baum, Director of Zalando Nordic.
The first package of the facility was already sent in 2017, but the opening was postponed until 2019.
Today, it serves as the hub for all of Zalando’s Nordic operations, and approximately 375,000 parcels are handled at the facility each week.
– Zalando is present in 25 markets and has 50 million active customers. For it to be so big, logistics plays a big role and is a key element, says Fabio Baum and explains why it is important to have one of Zalando’s twelve logistics facilities here.
-Our customers love the fact that we have such a large selection. We want to make sure that we meet our customers where they are, because taste and fashion vary greatly by country and region. Thus, we want products that are popular in a particular region to be closer to customers in that region.
