In addition to the new Nord CE 3 Lite 5G phone, OnePlus is also releasing the Nord Buds 2 frameless earphones. According to OnePlus, the headphones are equipped with a 12.4mm “optimization driver”, which should improve the bass quality. . Unfortunately, the headphones’ sound quality hasn’t suffered during the relatively short time we’ve had with the headphones. Sure, there’s no shortage of bass, but the rest of the audio sounds distant and as if some kind of surround effect is constantly being activated, although that’s not the case.
The noise cancellation has a depth of 25dB and actually blocks out background noise very effectively, though it doesn’t quite reach the level of more expensive headphones like OnePlus’ Buds 2 Pro or Bose’s latest QuietComfort II earphones.
A full charge should last up to 7 hours without the case and 36 hours with the charging case. A 10-minute charge should be able to provide up to 5 hours of use with active noise reduction turned off. The headphones are also certified with an IP55 rating.
The Nord Buds 2 are available in Lightning White and Thunder Gray colors, and are priced at SEK 790.
