Goldman Sachs new £1bn
London HQ into which staff will move over the next few weeks has been designed
with families in mind, it is reported.
The Evening Standard says that the new office at Plumtree Court will offer family-friendly features including lactation suites for new mothers, a state of the art nursery and ‘resting rooms’ for tired bankers.
The nursery alone includes pet fish, a climbing wall, water play area, technology classroom with a wifi-connected smartboard, trikes, a play kitchen, two napping rooms and an ‘art gallery’ for childrens’ artwork. The nursing rooms for new mothers will offer a breast pump, secure fridge, armchair and phone.
Employees will also
benefit from an extensive gym, exercise studios and a bike park for 455 bikes
amongst a range of other amenities
In their mission statement Goldman Sachs says: “Our people are our greatest asset – we say it often and with good reason. It is only with the determination and dedication of our people that we can serve our clients, generate long-term value for our shareholders and contribute to the broader public.” As regards their new London HQ at least that certainly seems to hold true.
