Position Green helps companies and organizations develop their sustainable businesses and businesses within ESG. In order to meet the growing demand and provide a meeting place in line with the business vision, Position Green is moving its position Malmö office to the new sustainable Varvsstaden district.
With a digital platform for everything from collecting to reporting sustainability data, consulting services and training, Position Green helps businesses and organizations undergo the transition to sustainability. The company has grown rapidly and in line with the business commitment. In Spring 2023 Position Green will open the doors to a new ‘Sustainability Powerhouse’ – office and meeting place from about 1100 square meters in the building of the historic shipyard Magasinet.
– When we started looking for a new office that could accommodate our rapid growth, Varvsstaden was our first choice. The future vision for the area attracts a company that is led by entrepreneurs like Position Green with offices in reconstructed circular industrial buildings in a central location that aligns well with our business and what our employees demand, says Daniel Gad, CEO and founder of Position Green and Continuum. We look forward to building our sustainability strength at Magasinet – a place where the collaboration between our digital platform, our employees and our customers is the focus on creating a sustainable working life.
The new Malmö district is developed by Varvsstaden AB, a joint venture company jointly owned by Fastighets AB Balder and Peab AB. Great emphasis is placed on sustainability and preserving the character of the area and many of the buildings that have survived from the Kokum era have been renovated for new life as offices, commerce, restaurants or other types of business. The warehouse was one of the first buildings to be completed and has since housed a company that will soon move to larger buildings in Warfstaden. Magasinet is operated by Balder Real Estate.
We are very proud to be part of the shipbuilding city and together with Peab contribute to the urban development of Malmö. At Varvsstaden, the shipyard’s heritage is allowed to live on in a new era and here reuse and sustainability are at the center, whether when we renovate or build new. I see the fact that a clearly sustainable company like Position Green chooses to establish itself here as proof that what we’re doing is right, says Jesper Kristensen, Balder’s regional director.
The bulk of Varvsstaden’s approximately 180,000 square metres, when the area is ready, will consist of apartment buildings of various rental forms. A total of about 2,500 new homes are planned. Three new over-water links connect the area with downtown Malmö and a new public transport route runs through the area. It is quite clear that Varvsstaden is expected to be completed by around 2035.
