Queues are increasing at the Rafah border crossing after it was announced that foreigners and a number of seriously injured people will be allowed to leave Gaza.
About 545 foreigners and dual nationals are expected to leave Gaza through the Rafah crossing, in addition to 90 seriously injured people, according to Agence France-Presse.
According to media on the scene, people carrying foreign passports were seen crossing the border and then leaving the scene in taxis – while the wounded and sick were being transported by ambulances waiting on the Egyptian side.
The agreement was mediated by Qatar
