Climber Alain Robert, also known as the French Spider-Man, celebrated his 60th birthday by climbing the 48 floors of the 187-meter TotalEnergies Building in ParisReuters reports.
Alan Robert wore red clothes and climbed the steep wall without any safety equipment.
This isn’t the first time that French Spider-Man has taken up the tallest building. This time it took him an hour to reach the top.
“I promised myself several years ago that when I was 60 I would go up the building again because 60 stands for the retirement age in France, I think it was a nice touch,” he told Reuters after climbing.
Arrested again
The purpose of Alan Robert’s climb is also to raise awareness about global warming.
Over the years, he has climbed about 150 tall buildings around the world. Among other things, he reached the top of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.
The French Spider-Man has been caught several times for climbing over it. Even the rise of Christmas in Paris ended with his arrest by the police.
– I want to send a message to people that I am 60 years old, nothing. You can still exercise, be active and do amazing things, he says.
