Fourth time the purchase was approved in Stockholm?

Fourth time the purchase was approved in Stockholm?

Today, the Stockholm region and the Jutland region have a Take Care magazine system. The Stockholm region was previously part of the ‘3R’ collaboration with Skåne and Västra Götaland. But it failed, and the other two regions have since made their own purchases, both from the Millennium system.

For Stockholm, there was a problem with the procurement business of a new system, one that Gotland also planned to use. A purchase in 2018 of SEK 2.2 billion, with a view to filing in 2020, had to be canceled due to ambiguities in the documents. I started a new purchase instead. But in 2019 the work had to be stopped again, this time due to a lack of competition – few bids met the mandatory requirements. And in 2020, the purchasing business was suspended due to the epidemic.

The following year, the Stockholm Region decided to change tracks. The idea of a large system was scrapped in favor of several different units with open, common standards: several smaller systems would be bundled together.

“There are several reasons, but the main reason is precisely that we do not believe that one solution or one system can cover the needs of all the different specialized functions.” Gertrude Ocklin, Area Program Leader “Generationsskifte Vårdens IT,” wrote in an interview with Läkartidningen that she chose to do. it via email.

She continues: “The Stockholm region already has several systems for different disciplines today, and it is a way of working that is familiar and appreciated at the same time. What is lacking is the ability to share information. «

But the scoring system should be the same in primary care and in hospitals. Purchasing now launched includes core functions such as documentation, medication management, orders, and responses.

It is important that the interfaces are modular so that information can be easily shared. The approach is to avoid double-documentation and to be prepared for new working methods and steps in development. All care in the area must use the new system, and the same services must be offered to private carers who have contracts. The starting point is that procurement should take one year and implementation will then take five years.

Johan Styrode, chief physician at Danderyd Hospital and non-president of the Stockholm Medical Association, believes that the Stockholm region – despite the ambition of a more modular system – could also become the Millennium region.

– We want something that can be easily adapted, where it is easy to enter data, with many different modules. But it costs a lot of money, so I think the region wants to buy something ready-made.

– If you’re going to force me to say how I think it’s going to land, I think we’ll buy Millennium, but there will be many drawbacks, he says, but he also adds that both Millennium and Cosmic are better than today’s outdated Take Care system.

Currently, there are two doctors in a group working on procurement, but they are strictly confidential and the Medical Guild has not received much information. Johan Sterode believes the medical association has not had much to say about it yet, but it is cooperating with the associations in Skien and Västra Götaland.

– We’ve had input from our colleagues there that the Millennium isn’t looking good.

When asked if Millennium or Cosmic could still be suitable for Stockholm, Gertrud Ocklin didn’t close any doors: “Suppliers have to decide that when they see the purchase document. We hope that our purchase will be useful to many suppliers.
