At Centrumkliniken in Sundsvall, a new way of working called Folkdental Care Flex is being tested. The goal is primarily to shorten patient queues. On Monday, January 29, the first patients were received and the results have already exceeded expectations.
– It went incredibly well. Just this morning, eleven patients were treated who would otherwise have returned. We and the patient benefit from saved trips, patient parking fees, dishes and wait time for us,” says Britt-Marie Nelson, General Dental Center Unit Manager.
Flow-based way of working
Folktandvården Flex should last for about nine months, but it does not apply to all patients. Flex patients do not book a specific appointment, but rather a one-hour time frame. They receive the exact start time via SMS 30 minutes before.
Clinic resources are used according to the need that exists at the time, which means that patient flow will increase and waiting lists will shrink in the long term. The dentist visit will be flexible and patients should be able to complete treatment in one visit or in as few visits as possible.
Ruling on conductors
The first day with the new system exceeded expectations. Dental nurse Annika Hageqvist thinks things have gone well so far.

The general dental care area supports Örebro County
This way of working already exists within the public dental service in the Örebro County area. Marina Arvidsson, Operations Manager and Johanna Kleberg, Unit Coordinator at Folktandvården Lindesberg and Kopparberg, were on site in Sundsvall to provide support and provide advice and advice.
– Things have gone very well, and the staff are open and positive about the system. It's funny that they ask us. That's why we're here, says Joanna Kleberg.
