Jessica Meir is a Swedish-American astronaut who spent seven months aboard the ISS between 2019 and 2020.
Together with another female astronaut, Meir became historic when she conducted the first spacewalk with the participation of females only. Meir is the first Swedish woman to travel into space.
The 43-year-old was born in Maine, USA. Today she lives in Houston. She studied space sciences and a PhD in marine biology and is also an honorary doctorate at Lulea University of Technology.

The music has been carefully selected. “Looking for Astronauts” with The National and The B-52’s “Planet Claire” are two examples of songs that nicely frame the different stages. She speaks candidly about the pressure to generate innovative ideas, suffering from deception syndrome and a lack of confidence in her own skills. When she finally saw the earth from above, she understood how far she had come, and that she was at home.
It’s admirable to hear about how he maneuvers the body in a spacesuit, graceful, awkward and clumsy, but with complete concentration. Then it plunges into Earth through the atmosphere again and emerges from a vehicle that has landed in the middle of a pandemic.
