Two-year-old Emile disappeared on Saturday from his relatives’ home in La Vernet, in southeastern France.
Since then, great search efforts have been made to find the boy, who actually comes from Bouches-du-Rhône near Marseille.
But Emil disappeared without a trace.
– Prosecutor Remy Avon said in a press conference on Tuesday: – At the moment we have no idea, no information, no element that can help us understand this disappearance.
One hypothesis is that Emile has hidden himself somewhere in the countryside near the family home.
The new way to find the boy
During Tuesday, so a new method was tested in the search work. A recording of Emil’s mother’s voice is played “as loud as possible” from a helicopter flying over the area where the son disappeared.
– Emile was always chasing butterflies and might have come a long way before he hid somewhere to take a nap, a person at the rescue service tells the Daily Mail.
But after days of searching with a helicopter and sniffer dogs, police are now increasingly investigating the theory that the two-year-old was kidnapped.
“He could have gone a long way, but all the searches we’ve made in the last two days should have led to his location,” police officer Marc Chappuis tells The Daily Mail.
Police said the search will be expanded on Wednesday from “regional” to “national” at the same time the police search team increases from 15 to 20 people.
