Eileen Tragård was awarded for her research in an interdisciplinary project combining exploratory, high-tech imaging research at the cellular level with clinical care of patients with prostate cancer. Researchers have developed an artificial intelligence model to automatically find tumors in the prostate, lymph nodes and skeleton.

» Elin Trägårdh has received the LMK Foundation 2024 Medicine Prize for her interdisciplinary research that combines new research, technologies and models with clinical utility and implementation. The research delves into cellular studies, the development of nuclear medicine methods, and raises perspectives through the use of artificial intelligence. The field of medical imaging is experiencing strong development, and thanks to innovative studies, opportunities are being developed for earlier and safer diagnosis. In patients with prostate cancer, tumor size is measured using the PSMA PET-DT screening method in order to more effectively map the disease, assess risks and be able to personally choose an appropriate treatment. Trägårdh's contribution to research could open new opportunities for tomorrow's patients with prostate cancer. The LMK Foundation Medicine Prize is a well-deserved tribute to Elin Trägårdh's research efforts. “We look forward to future research advances that can further improve people’s health and well-being.”
